Meet the Men’s Rev Athletic Collection

You likely know by now that our most successful products support living an active lifestyle. We want apparel that supports the passions in our lives, without having to worry about caring for our clothes…and we should have it. While performance has always been part of all of our products, we haven’t ventured into activewear – until now.

During the pandemic, I ran a lot, and tried all kinds of solutions to carry my things. From typical athletic shorts (where everything jiggled around as I moved) to frustrating and uncomfortable running bands, nothing fit the bill.

While there are certainly many options out there for peak performance, I always craved something that wasn’t overtly techy (no to tiny shorts with built-in undies) but still solved the problem of phone storage.

Recently, I shared our reasons for launching an athletic collection, but in sum, the activewear collection from Bluffworks needed to hit four objectives:

Have the ideal phone pockets for athletic activity.
Be light and highly packable for a trip.
Store more than just a phone.
Look classic.

Enter the Rev collection from Bluffworks, our first venture into men’s athletic wear. We’ll launch with athletic shorts and corresponding pants, both of which feature never-before-seen phone pockets designed to keep your tech in place, even while running.

Meet the Fabric

A lightweight and stretch woven knit, our Rev fabric is both fast drying and wrinkle resistant. It’s super soft to the touch, with an impressive host of features baked right in:

Polyester, spandex, and nylon construction
Moisture wicking & quick drying
4-way stretch for ease of movement
Cool touch fabric & soft handfeel
Wrinkle resistant and breathable
Machine washable, like everything we make
Lightweight 6-8 oz per yard fabric

We constructed both the Rev athletic shorts and pants with a woven panel in front and back, and a knit panel on the side to support the pockets for your phone and more. The stretch knit supports our unique pocketing, and the woven panels are incredibly light and soft. I especially love that the shorts roll up to be the size of a slim burrito, and weigh far less than 1 lb. Our Rev fabric also wicks moisture and dries quickly while resisting wrinkles.

Our Rev Athletic Shorts are designed with attention to detail:

Athletic fit with a 7” inseam
Full stretch inside drawstring waistband
Two unique stay-put hip phone pockets
Two front slash pockets
One back zippered pocket
One hidden front zippered pocket

When I run, I know exactly where I want my phone to be – high on my hip, where it won’t sway back and forth and knock against my legs. I needed both a place for my phone to sit nicely, and to easily access it with one hand. Our solution is the best (and really, only one) I’ve seen, and we hope you’ll agree.

To create the best mens athletic shorts with pockets, we have to manage everything I might carry when activity strikes. Keys, wallet, phone… someplace to put my glasses, and maybe carry an energy bar too. It all needs to fit without dragging down my shorts or shaking around when I move.

That’s why we added two slash pockets in the front for classic style, and zippered pockets to keep other valuables like wallets contained. With a total of 6 pockets, these mens activewear shorts can take anything you throw at them, while remaining surprisingly sleek and discreet. For safety and visibility, these shorts also include a reflective logo and tape at bottom hem.

Our Rev Athletic Pants mirror the pocket structure of the shorts, with additional design elements below the knee for a hardworking pair of workout pants with pockets.

These sporty casual running pants and shorts are made for movement. With their comfortable stretch drawstring waistband and athletic fit (available in S-XL sizing), you’ll be able to make your move. Plus, we also included a reflective logo and tape at the bottom hem for visibility in low-light situations.
