- How do I care for my Departure Jeans?
- This fabric is made with natural indigo dye so the color may transfer to white and lighter colors. For best results, wash garment inside out with dark colors (or alone). Machine wash warm 104° F (40° C) with like colors, use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry normal or hang dry. Remove promptly. Warm iron if needed.
- How do I ensure my Departure Jeans always look their best?
- Remember to remove immediately from washer and dryer. If needed, warm iron to remove creasing. In case a stain happens, we suggest using a mild dish soap to clean it.
- Can my Departure Jeans be altered?
- Yes, they can be altered as long as your tailor is comfortable working with the material.

Slim fit without being too skinny. The 35 waist was a little tight, but not so much that I had to go up to a 36.
Phone pocket could be a little deeper, as my I phone 15 plus max won’t fit all the way in length wise. Also the thigh zipper pocket needs to be a little deeper. Nothing major. Just needs a couple of tweaks. Still happy with these jeans.

I normally wear Ascender chino and shorts 33x30 and I love them (own 3 different colors in each). I was really excited about this as I wanted a pair of jeans when I travel besides ascender chinos and I had tried pretty much all travel specific jeans on the market and didn’t like any of them or they were way too expensive. These were definitely best out of ones I have tried and I’m keeping them but I do have 3 suggestions. I wish that the pants fabric was little bit more elastic/stretchy to increase comfort. I wish that phone pocket opening was little larger and/or more stretchy so that I can get my phone in and out more easily. I also wish that you removed thigh zippered pocket and find another place for second zippered pocket. I have never found thigh pocket to be useful (ascender shorts also have these). For sizing, I ended up getting 34x30 and I think mainly because of the stiffness of the fabric.

I really wanted these pants to work out, but the fit on them just isn't quite the same as other Bluffworks pants. I got the same size in both the chinos and the 5 pocket pants and while those both fit really well these were just too snug in the crotch and seat. Really nice in the legs though and I enjoyed the design with the pockets and feel of the fabric, just didn't work out for my body type. The return process was smooth and customer service were responsive and intuitive enough to even resend a coupon since I used one for the purchase. I'd buy another pair if they come out with a different fit option or if I suddenly lose some of my...assets...

Departure jeans are made of a sturdy, yet light weight denim. They have a great amount of stretch but retain their shape really well. My wife loves me in them and commented on how well they fit me. The side zipper pocket on the pant leg is unnecessary but barely noticeable.

I have been reading frequent flyer blogs for a long time and occasionally the Bluffworks brand is recommended as great travel wear. I finally decided to try the Departure Jeans 3.0. I have been buying clothes from a giant online retailer for several years and half of the time I need to return the items due to fit or style. I thought that I may as well give these jeans a try--I've learned how to return them. My size is 31" waist, 28" inseam. (5'7" and 150 lbs male) To save a few bucks, I received a 15% discount for signing up for emails from the company. The pants arrived fast, a couple of days following my order in a flat box, which I opened carefully for a likely return. I always peel off the mailing labels while they are still fresh, too.
On go the pants. I'm being careful not to pull off any labels. Wow. They fit perfectly. This cannot be. The waist fits me perfectly. I look down at the length. Wow, again. The hem is where it belongs. I put on shoes. The hem is where it belongs. I put my hands in the front pockets. The pocket is really smooth and deep. I normally keep my wallet in the left side front pocket and my iPhone in the right. The items fit great with a smaller, less noticeable bulge when seen from the front. I like these jeans. So I wear them constantly for a day, taking them off only to find the zippered pockets and the cell phone pocket in the back into which my phone fits snugly and securely. Nice well-made jeans with good pockets. You can tell by the stitching these jeans are of better quality than other jeans and the fit is very good. The size appears to run small in the waist as I normally wear waist size 34", but they were too tight, so went a size larger to 36" which seemed to do the trick. (5'11" 183 lbs.)
