- How do I care for my Ascenders?
- Machine wash cold 86° F (30° C) with like colors. Do not bleach. Dry medium heat. Low iron, if needed.
- How do I ensure my Ascenders always look their best?
- Remember to remove immediately from washer and dryer. If needed, warm iron to remove creasing. In case a stain happens, we suggest using a mild dish soap to clean it.
- Can my Ascenders be altered?
- Yes, they can be altered as long as your tailor is comfortable working with the material.

I bought my first pair of ascender many years ago for a trip I was going on. I have bought many pair since then. Consistently my favorite pants while traveling or a home. Always cut perfectly for me, travel well, I am wearing them in Egypt as I write this review. I was wearing the stone pants yesterday and noticed some blood on the leg from a scrape on my arm. A little soap and water and ready to go! I was a fan of the olive but desert sage is a nice replacement.

I confessed I was a little skeptical about the color when I ordered it. But when it arrived, my doubts disappeared. The color is a variation of khaki and works well with so many different shirts and accessories. It is also nice having something that is similar to khaki while being different, if that makes sense.

I have a pair in grey and matte blue. Overall these are nice pants and the primary reason I got them was to have a secure place to keep my wallet/phone/passport while traveling. I guess I cannot prove these are pick-pocket proof but after several overseas trips I still have all my stuff :-) Seriously though it is really nice to be able to keep everything including a passport, in a case, in my pockets while traveling and jet-lagged while looking good. I got tired of traveling in cargo pants and these are a huge upgrade in style.
One gripe I have is that the pants had creases in them that do not come out in the wash. I read a post from Bluffworks to use a warm iron and a damp cloth or a clothes steamer. It is scary trying to figure out the correct iron settings and cloth dampness needed to get the creases out without melting them. They are plastic pants so it was a concern of mine. Maybe a clothes steamer works better but I do not have one. Perhaps they should offer a free clothes steamer when 2 or more pairs are purchased.
My other gripe is the price but luckily I got them on a big sale a year or ago. I'm not sure if I would buy them at full price. If I gave price more weight I'd lower the rating to 3 but I want Bluffworks to stay around in case I need more in the future :-)

This is the fourth pair of Ascender Chino pants I have purchased. They have all been consistent in their waist size and length. My interest in these pants lies in the following areas: I have appreciated the stretch. My weight varies between 175 and 185 and the stretch fabric keeps these pants comfortable throughout. I appreciate NOT being a commercial. If you know what to look for you can tell these are Bluffworks but, it is not glaringly obvious. The quality appears first rate so far. I have had the first pair about two years now and they are still like new. None of these pants have been in a dryer. They get washed in the morning, get hung up in the house, and are dry by the evening. My only issue has been with the clasp on the zipper. In each pair, the clasp sometimes becomes misaligned. While I have always been able to realign it, it can be a bit of a frustrating exercise. I sincerely hope that Stefan is able to keep his vision of his clothing alive as he transitions to new suppliers and warehouses.

Great pants, true to size, the material is nice and feel premium. I bought a 36x34 and they are a too long, maybe should’ve gone to a 36x32 instead. The fit is premium feel, finish is nice and they wear well all day. I’d like to see the rear waistband pocket on both sides of the pants instead of one. I generally tend to use my left side more. Love this color, is very nice I tend to wear it and the blue more than the khaki color I bought.
