(Edit: we're working on bringing back a few updated blazer and dress pant styles after selling out of the Trevi line. Unfortunately, we can't confirm a date yet, but if you're on our email list we'll be sure to let you know.)

I have a secret for you: travel clothes for women drive me crazy.

Bluffworks came from my need for something that didn’t exist: apparel that looked good enough for me to wear to work, yet was as easy to care for as the travel clothing I always reached for.

Women feel the same way, and they need the same thing.

Last summer, we started our women’s development process with a survey to explore exactly what a line of travel clothes for women should be. We gathered more than 500 responses from women who want – we learned – nothing less than the ability to take on the world and look great doing it, just like our guys.

Our team learned that these (initial) Bluffworks women typically live in cities, work and travel a lot, and are entirely done with women’s clothing having to compromise on either appearance or functionality.

Our women’s travel clothes will have the same fundamental qualities as everything Bluffworks makes:

  • Breathability.
  • Moisture-wicking sweat resistance.
  • Wrinkle-free fabrics.
  • Super-resilient, machine-washable construction.
  • An elegant look and feel.
  • Supreme comfort, with stretch.
  • A polished, professional aesthetic.
  • Fits for many body types.
  • Multi-functional pockets, including zippered and hidden pockets for travel.
  • Versatility and durability for a vast range of situations.

What's in the Works for Women's

We currently have fit samples in hand and are working hard to launch our first capsule wardrobe for women this Fall. (Update: our Women's line is now available to shop.)

The Blazer

When it comes to a stylish and functional travel blazer, women’s options are limited. We heard that women wanted a jacket with range – both to wear to work and pair with jeans to go out – a versatile item that feels great to travel in, and requires none of the headaches of dry-cleaning or ironing.

And good lord, women want pockets too.

Most important is the fabric. We searched for a year to find a material as great as our men’s Gramercy fabric, but feels right for women. Think soft, with stretch, an elegant matte finish, and structure to hold shape. Anti-odor and anti-wrinkle characteristics were a must.

The Pants

Right off the bat, the number one thing we heard was a desperate need for a pair of pants you actually want to wear all the time. At work, on weekends, while traveling – without having to change. Stylish travel pants you can depend on to carry plenty of stuff, look great, and are easy to take care of.

Our lightweight, elegant pants sit at the natural waistline. The adjustable hem means you can find the length that works best for that day, that outfit.

We designed our pants with a pleated front and room in the hips to make a flattering silhouette, even with hidden pockets to carry your phone discreetly.

They are made with the same fabric as our blazer (for a coordinating suit). Soft with a bit of stretch, wrinkle-resistant, and machine-washable, you’ll finally have the pair of travel pants women have been asking for.

The Dress

The big lesson from our homework was clear: you want a dress equally appropriate for work meetings, nice dinners, and casual outings, which can also function as a travel dress. Something that pairs wonderfully with sandals or sneakers for an everyday look – and still coordinates with a blazer.

This smart “little black dress” will come in three colors to start. It will be supremely easy to wear, with a universally-flattering A-line silhouette.

And yes, we absolutely plan to make dresses with pockets. Pockets for your hands, your phone, and your credit card. (Imagine that.)

The Blouse

We know you need a blouse that is truly elegant – and until now, silk was the only game in town. But it’s murder to care for.

We found a fabric that looks like silk but has the technical features you demand. One of our testers wore our blouse every day for a full week (in our office, working out, and even sleeping) – and it performed amazingly. No odor, no wrinkles, and it always looked great. We’re not kidding.

These should be your go-to travel shirts whether you wear it with jeans or work slacks, under your blazer or on its own. Finally.

Taking on women’s is a big deal to me. You have been asking us for travel outfits for years, and I wanted to do it right.

I hope our goal is clear: to provide women with amazing products, just like we do for men. One important aspect to us is fit – so we will be offering a range of options, including petites.

I’m so excited to finally offer clothing that help support women’s journeys. And I’m all ears to hear what you think.

Bluff on,
