Behind Bluffworks: The Eardley Men's Cap

I'll tell you something...

In my quest to pack light, a product that has been vexing me is my hat.

When I travel, I need two things: 1) a running hat that's good for being active, like exercising, playing outside, etc. and 2) one that works for hanging out in the city.

To date, I haven't had a hat that did both. As a result, on some trips, I’ve needed to bring two. Ugh.  

Enter the Eardley Cap.

Designing our new men's cap

My goal was to produce a good looking cap for men that can be worn anywhere. Something that performs well, can take a beating, and is good for all weather.

First, the materials: we chose 100% technical stretch polyester that dries fast, and has an elegant, matte appearance. It is both breathable and water resistant.

Second, the fit: we spent a lot of time creating a low-profile silhouette that has enough room for your noggin, or a good head of hair.

Third, the closure: we included an adjustable pull tab to customize the fit. One side stretches to make the cap snug so it won’t come off in a breeze. The clip closure lets you to attach it to your bag.

Hats are one of those products that, when done right, become highly personal to their owners. In my life, anytime I’ve had a favorite cap, it would disappear.

Case in point: the one my best friend stole…

“What the hell, man?” I asked. His reply, “It’s the only one that fits me.”

Crud. I had to do something about this. As a result, we’re making a few thousand caps, so you and I will always have the hat we need.

When can I get it?

The Eardley Cap will be available this holiday season in two colors: Burnt Orange and Slate Grey. You might want one for yourself and your best friend…

By the way, this is the first time we ever put our logo on anything external.
