Meet the Gramercy Shirt Jacket

Our product development is centered around true performance fabrics that combine style, quality, and comfort to meet whatever challenges life throws your way. We rigorously test our fabrics for wrinkle-resistance, breathability, moisture-wicking, and lightweight wear. Our standout Gramercy fabric was no exception. Years after launching it, it remains one of our best sellers, and has exclusively been used for suiting - until now.

The moment we’re in calls for even greater freedom in how we dress, whether formal, casual, or a little bit in between. So we reached out to our partners to take our suiting fabric and construct something that would leverage the weight, wool like appearance and properties of the Gramercy Blazer in a reimagined silhouette.

Enter: The Gramercy Shirt Jacket, a hybrid layering piece that mixes the weight and warmth of a fall jacket and the comfort and fit of a collared shirt. Lined with a soft performance fleece, the shirt jacket has smart pocketing and just enough structure for layering over any t-shirt, collared shirt or sweater, yet can also be worn as a piece of outerwear.

Meet the Fabric

This fabric does it all - our overshirt looks and feels like a wool shirt jacket, but resists wrinkles, and is truly machine washable. This technical polyester has a great handfeel - it’s lightweight, soft, stretches, and breathes, so you’re actually comfortable wearing it alone or as a layering piece. This soft-to-the-touch substantial fabric comes with an impressive host of features baked right in:

100% technical polyester.
Wrinkle resistant and breathable.
Moisture wicking and quick drying.
Machine washable, like everything we make.
Lightweight 5.99 oz per yard fabric.

Comfort is key, and our newest products were built smart casual wear in mind. The inside of the Gramercy Shirt Jacket is lined with a lightweight performance fleece for added warmth and perfect layering in colder weather.

Just like with our Gramercy blazer and dress pants, our Gramercy Shirt Jacket comes in Blue Hour, Gotham Grey, and Northwest Grey – versatile neutrals that pair well with the rest of your closet (and any pant in our collection).

Meet the Details

Our Gramercy Shirt Jacket is designed with attention to detail:

2 exterior flap chest pockets
1 exterior lower side seam pocket on wearer’s right
1 exterior, hidden, front placket chest pocket
2 internal patch pockets at chest

With a total of 6 pockets (4 external plus 2 internal), this shirt jacket’s slim profile is worn as a casual jacket, layered over a dress shirt and tee. We added functional details, such as mock horn buttons just like our Gramercy blazer, performance fleece lining, a rounded hem to hit just below the waist, DWR finish on the exterior, and a locker loop at the back neck. And, with XS-XXL sizing, this garment will be available in a Regular and Tall length.
