Meet the Ascender Shorts

You guys have been asking us for new shorts for years, and we’re beyond excited to offer these incredible versatile tactical shorts — ready for your warm weather adventures.

Summer is my happiest time. And I want one pair of shorts that I can wear, no matter what I’m doing. They need to move with me, featuring enough pockets to carry everything I need, but not so loose that my stuff is all over the place.

So we made a pair of chino shorts using our Ascender fabric and a streamlined pocketing design for everyday carry. I tested them all last summer so I could confidently approve them to share with you guys. 

Meet the Fabric

Our amazing Ascender fabric is extremely soft, with built-in stretch, and performs just the way you need it to:

• 100% technical polyester twill.
• Wrinkle-resistant and breathable.
• Moisture-wicking, quick-dry, anti-microbial.
• Machine-washable. Line or tumble dry.
• Lightweight 5.31 oz per yard fabric.

Like other men’s chino shorts, these are made with a twill fabric that has a nice matte finish. We’re launching them in two classic colors for easy coordinating across your closet: an earth tone and a navy.

And of course the fabric has all the standard Bluffworks benefits: machine-washable, moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and odor-resisting. So your shorts are ready for wherever the day may take you.

We used our Ascender Chino pants as the basis for the design, so they have a classic look of casual shorts for men. But we included the pockets you need for them to be practical as hiking shorts or on trips.

So our shorts have a total of 9 pockets, including a small multi-tool pocket (for a KeySmart or pocket knife), our signature Bluffworks waistband phone pocket, and zippered security pockets.

The side zippered pocket is our answer to having a cargo pocket that doesn’t look like one, thanks to our streamlined design.
