Meet the Petaluma Ponte Pant

Our newest women’s product is an innovation on athleisure, but disguised as business casual, thanks to a structured ponte with a few technical upgrades.

The goal was to make your new favorite do-anything, go-anywhere pants. So, we designed pull-on performance leggings with trouser details and functional pockets. They’re as comfortable as they are practical, and they coordinate easily with the rest of your closet.

Meet the Fabric

Petaluma Ponte Pant in Black

68% Rayon, 28% Nylon, 4% Spandex
Machine washable. Line or tumble dry
Double-knit 7.08 oz per-yard fabric.
Smoothing stretch with light compression.

Ponte is a double-knit fabric that has the durable structure of a woven with the soft stretch of a knit — AKA the best of both worlds. The light compression creates a smooth and streamlined silhouette that’s comfortable all day, and it’s inherently wrinkle-resistant.

We added an antimicrobial treatment so that they’ll stay fresh for multiple days of wear, which is important because you probably won’t want to take them off. Of course, they’re machine-washable for easy cleaning and effortless care (please, no dry cleaning).

2 Zippered front pockets
1 Hidden envelope pocket

We designed these to be more practical than the average leggings, with five pockets, so you can stash your stuff and go hands-free.

The front and back pockets — a total of four — have zipper closures so they stay securely closed (and they’re stitched down inside the pants to keep them smooth and discreet).

We snuck a hidden pocket inside the waistband, so you have a safe place to keep your cash and cards. It opens like an envelope (no zipper), so it lays smooth and flat against your skin.

Ways to Wear Them

Because the ponte fabric itself creates soft and stretchy compression, these pull-on pants are slimming and fitted to the body. Detailed leg seams create visual length, and an open ankle slit balances the silhouette from hip to hem.

With this design approach, they’re versatile and easy to coordinate with the rest of your closet — and our women’s line. So whether you’re wearing them with a blazer and blouse, or going casual in an everyday t-shirt and sneakers, you’ll look great and feel even better.

I’m excited to broaden our offerings for women. These are so comfortable that I’m tempted to wear them (even though my product testing is over).
